OKAY, OKAY settle down... I really want to know!
I've noticed that almost all British actors have crooked teeth (even Kiera Knightly, who I love). Here in the US almost every teenager wears braces at some point and you don't have to be famous or necessarily rich; a nice smile is everything to us. Both my kids wore braces and I get my teeth whitened, which is very commonplace here. Is it just not a big deal in England? Does England embrace their crooked teeth? Do you have orthodontists in England?
Are there orthodontists in England?
obviously not, just look at daniel craig

Reply:uh-oh... I'm gonna duck and run away before the bombing starts
Reply:and they all smile real big too!
ahem..
Reply:I think they're not nearly as ego-driven and paranoid about their looks as Americans. Though my arts work has been mostly onstage, I've done a bit of film work and seen a LOT of caps. I'm not pro or con -- merely perplexed about the whole slavish devotion to image.
By the way, Stephen Sondheim wrote a so-so show with Richard Rodgers called "Do I Hear a Waltz?" in which an Italian pensione [hotel] owner bags on various types of Europeans who stay at her pensione [it's decidedly un-P.C., but very fun]. Here's her verse about the British:
This week, the English
You should see the English!
All that tea, the English --
Thirsty, I suppose.
Good eggs, the English
Rotten legs, the English
All those teeth, the Engish --
Rows and rows and rows!
Reply:I think there are but they don't like to care their teeths as we do.....they even don't take 2 or 3 showers a day like us..... so, it's something cultural!!!! I think so!!!!
lol
