Dental specialists and orthodontists please help...?

for braces, are there certain teeth you will NOT instruct the patient to put dental elastics on? like if a strong force is on said teeth it would cause a lot of problems eg pinched nerves, facial imbalance etc.?

thank you so much!

The placement of elastics is differs from patient to patient, depending on the malocclusion. Elastics are used to bring the lower jaw forward, correct midlines shifts, close open bites correct cross bites, etc. So it depends on the patient. It is highly unlikely that it would cause a pinched nerve. As for facial imbalance,it would not happen in a month,so if you have any concerns speak to your dentist.

Good Luck
