What's the difference between orthodontists and dentists?

Orthodontists work with teeth straightening (braces, retainers, pallet expanders, etc.)

Dentists work with the health of your teeth.(teeth cleaning, cavity fillings, tooth pullings, etc.)

Hope this helps!

What's the difference between orthodontists and dentists?
Orthodontists = braces.
Reply:no difference they are the same person. They work with teeth.
Reply:the only thing an orthodontist can do is put on braces and make appliances. a dentist can drill and fill teeth sometimes pull. do root canals. make dentures and partials.
Reply:Orthodontist specialize in the straightening of your teeth to give

U a better bite %26amp; smile. Dentist mostly check teeth for cavities

and other teeth, gum related problems.
Reply:Orthodontists put on braces

Dentists make you teeth look better
Reply:An Orthodontist has a Specialty Ed, in addition to General Dentistry. In other words, they have studied a lot more than a general dentist who does Cleaning, Root Canals, Crowns etc.

Their Specialty is to correct teeth, and biting issues with the use of "appliances" (braces).
Reply:an orthodonists specializes in braces ect. a dentist pulls teeth, does root canals ect. an orthodontist gets a lot more money!that is the biggest difference.
