How do orthodontists take out spacers? I get my spacers out tomorrow around...1:30 and I'm getting braces.

Also, what color should I get them?

spacers are pretty much rubber bands around your back teeth to space them out. all they do is pull them out. i had it done before and it doesnt hurt a bit.

i got blue my first time.

IMPORTANT COLORS NOT TO GET!!!

DONT GET:

-yellow(makes it look like corn is in your teeth)

-clear(it gets discolored... ew)

p.s. the worse part about braces is the spacers first put in and the pain that week. other than that nothing
Reply:You obviously have spacers ..so you have NOT been able to floss between those teeth until they are removed. All spacers generally are is a hard little rubber band that fits between the teeth to create a space for your ortho bands. They are very easy to remove and it doesn't hurt at all.

As far as the colored tie elastics..purple and pink were my faves . don't use a clear, yellow or natural colored ones..they stain and the yellow one gets darker. Not a pretty sight..actually makes your teeth look kind of dirty. So..that in mind..stay with the bolder colors and ENJOY your braces.

Take care
Reply:They just use a dental pick to pluck them out. Then they let you brush your teeth and they put the bands on your molars. Purple, gold, red, green, pink, are all good colors. Good luck!
Reply:mine popped out the first day by themselves
Reply:they either floss them out or use a dental pick to cathc the end and wiggle them out
