What happens when you go to the orthodontists office?

on thursday, may 10, i'm going to the ortho's office for a consultation or something. see, one of my canine teeth grew way up in my gums, and it's not inline with the other teeth.i also have some gaps in my teeth. do you think that i'll need braces? what can i expect to happen at my first ortho visit on thursday?

thank you

they will evaluate the way your teeth are coming in and may either, use braces which do not hurt being placed, or they will use a handy little item you have to wear at night inmost cases.

it adjusts either by someone turning a tiny screw incrementally, so it wont hurt, or by putting in a retainer that pulls slightly using rubber bands.
Reply:That happened to my canine teeth too! I need braces and have them they are not that bad. The orthodontist will talk to your mom or dad and you and they will figure out if you need braces and talk about insurance and braces plans and things. They may have you get some xrays of your teeth and such but no big deal. Braces hurt at first but you will be okay.
