How do orthodontists take braces off?

i've heard it can bleed....do they just pull them off? or use something to unstick the glue stuff?does it hurt more than getting the tightened?

How do orthodontists take braces off?
they take this thing that kinda looks like pliers and they gently clip on yur braces and it comes off without any pain! dont worry =] ive had braces and it did not hurt at all! and getting it tightened is the worse feeling, getting them off comes no where near that.
Reply:They pretty much just rip them right out of your mouth, very bloody, don't wear anything nice.
Reply:you have nothing to worry about trust me. i had braces for two years i thought the same thing but it doesnt hurt at all trust me
Reply:They bend the prongs first and then each one "pops" off. There is a small tool that can be compared to a chisel that is used to assist them in popping them off. If they miss and the chisel-like thing hits your gums, yes it could bleed. That requires them missing though. Yes, it happens, but not often, and even when it does, it doesn't hurt unless they REALLY miss badly.

You'll be fine :-)
Reply:they use plier thingy that "pop" the bracket off by breaking the glue, then polish ur teeth to remove excess glue
