Question for orthodontists/ Dentists about spacers???

Hello! I just got my spacers on today for braces. I was just wondering, do they usually put the bands on teeth that have crowns on them, I would think this would damage the crown, but they put the spacers on either side of a tooth I have a crown on, will it be ok?

LIZ,

DON'T BE WORRIED AT ALL ABOUT THIS WON'T CAUSE ANY DAMAGE TO THE CROWN.

BE SURE TO BUY AND USE A WATERPIK MACHINE DAILY TO KEEP EVERYTHING CLEAN AND TIDY.

YOUR ORTHODONTIST WILL BE HAPPILY SURPRISED.
Reply:Yes, you can put a band around a tooth with a crown on it, that should not damage the crown the cement can be removed when you are done with braces.
