How long do orthodontists have to go to school for?
First you need a college degree with a science background- then if you are bright enough you go to Dental School whih is 4 years. After that you go to specialty school for ortho. These are very competitive programs and as you see it takes a long time to complete one. Beginning a new practice is a very expensive and slow process-some are able to join an exisiting group.
Talk to your dentist about this-he can fill in the blanks for you.
Reply:Hi! Simple, in the USA you go to 4 years of pre-med, 4 years of dental school and 3 years of speciality school. All orthodonists have to do 3 years of clinic and be supervised for each case.
