I just got rubberbands on monday and they still hurt, how much longer until I can take them off and not be in pain when I put them back on. Also, how long (i.e. how many months) do you usually have to wear rubberbands. I've only had braces for six months at this point if that matters (I'm supposed to have them for 2 years). Thanks!
Orthodontists, Question about rubberbands???
I would give it till next monday to be completly pain free all the time. It just takes time for your mouth and teeth to become accustom to them. You might have to wear them for several months or a year it all depends on your teeth and overbite, etc ,etc.
Reply:if you wish to correct your teeth you shouldnt take off your bands unless when directed. they help move your teeth and make them straight. They should stop hurting entirley in about 1 week at most, if they continue to hurt contact your orthodontist

Reply:What i would do is don't wear them for a day and give them a rest. Also trie to stretch out the bands befor putting them on.
