Any ideas on what to expect on the first orthodontist appointment?





I heard there will be x-rays...anything else?

First Orthodontist Appointment?
It all depends on the orthodontist. Some of them don't really do much but talk to you (a consultation) and then bring you back in for x-rays and molds of your teeth. My orthodontist did the x-rays and molds and then I went back 2 weeks later to discuss payment and treatment options. Make sure you don't settle on the first orthodontist that you see. Reply:they will also take a mould of your mouth (like when you get a mouth guard to play sport), i can't remember if they then put the braces on or you get them at your next appointment, i'm thinking at the next appointment...
Reply:it is your first time and you are going to get braces you will most likely get spacers(rubber bands put on your back teeth to make room for the metal rings that will hold the braces in place, they literally space out your teeth.) these are rather uncomfortable. id bring some tylonal to take afterward if that is the case. maybe see if your mom can cook up some soft food it will be difficult to chew for a few days. dont worry itll be fine
Reply:It depends on where you go. My first orthodontist appointment.. they made me take X-rays, make a mold of my teeth, take pictures of me, and told me I had to pull out two teeth for my braces. I went to pull them out and then a couple days later, they put the braces on. Good luck and don't be scared. It doesn't hurt while they do anything.. it's just the day after that hurts!!
Reply:nothing happens alls they do is talk to you about what their planning on doing and what you want out of that and what your teeth should look like after the process of braces trust me i just went to day and thats what they told me!
