Orthodontist or Psychiatrist!!!!!!!!!!HELP!!!!...
I am neither an orthodontist nor a psychiatrist but have had much experience with psychiatrists and sent my children to orthodontists. Just the nature of the people and kind of work you would expect would sway me.

A psychiatrist deals with all the troubled minds of society and has to decide if they are fit to be called normal without even having a definition of normal to go on. He can not expect much job satisfaction (other than his fees) as the mentally ill are rarely cured. (I have heard it said that psychiatry has a cure rate about equal to a that of an African with doctor. I have also heard it said that the suicide rate for psychiatry is among the highest of any profession.).But there is much need for research and improvement in the mental health field.

An orthodontist's patients are mostly young people and children. His job satisfaction is high as he gets to treat happy people and the cure rate is very high. His pay is equal to or more than that of a psychiatrist. Looking into peoples mouths every day might get pretty boring.

If you want challenge and danger try psychiatry. If you want peace and serenity choose orthodontia.

Good luck, Good Health, peace and love!
