Orthodontist question, i lost my retainer and need to know if my teeth will move?

Hi, i went to A%26amp;W yesterday, and placed my retainer in a napkin because i had forgotten my retainer case. we left and about an hour after they closed i realized i didn't have it in. I called my orthodontist clinic but they are on vacation untill the 20th, 4 days from now. will my teeth move drastically, or can it be fixed easily

Hi! I just want to tell you that you r teeth will not move drastically!! If your Orthodontist won't be back for another four days that means you will not get a retainer for about another 11 days being that they would have to retake your impression and send it to the lab! You should ask you Orthodontist if he can place a permanent retainer on your teeth. It's really much nicer than it sounds. What they would do is place a little retainer on the lingual side of your anterior teeth. No one will ever know that it's there, he can put it on right there on the spot and you won't have to worry about losing your retainer again! Well Good Luck!!!
Reply:maybe my doctor told me i have to wear my retainers at night for a least another 2 years depends..
Reply:Hi, contact the restuarant as soon as possible and see if you can go back and try to find your retainer.





I dont think a few days is going to make much difference.
Reply:Without a retainer they will move. Replace it ASAP.
Reply:check with a%26amp;w again, but they will move hopefully not much the Ortho Dr. might have to make some small adjustments but don't stress to much.

Reply:I dont think that they'll move that much in that short amount of time, but getting it back in it will probably hurt or whatever a little worse...
