Is an orthodontist's job gory?

Does an orthodontist see blood and do implants aswell as surgeries like a dentist?

Is an orthodontist's job gory?
I'm not an orthodontist but I've had braces for many years which means I've been around one. :) I can tell you that they do see blood, like when they need to pull out teeth. There can also be blood when they clean your teeth with the sharp, metal stick (don't know what it's called). They do seem to do minor surgery sometimes but I don't know if that's common. It doesn't seem like it. I just remember my friend had to get stitches for something small. As for implants, I have no idea. You'll probably get better answers if you ask again during the daytime, or the opposite of whenever you're asking now. :)
Reply:Orthodontists probably have the least "gory" job compared to other dental specialists. No, they don't usually do implants or other surgeries, those types of procedures are usually performed by oral surgeons, periodontists, or endodontists.

But orthodontists know how to put the right traction on teeth to gradually bring them into place, they are incredible engineers! When I had braces, I followed all of my doc's instructions and had much better results than even he had predicted.
Reply:No. They don't .
