Advice from an orthodontist?

I've had a retainer for 6 months. My teeth were straight but they needed to be adjusted a bit so I got in a retainer with springs in the back. I just started wearing my retainers only at night, about a week ago.Two days ago, I accidentally bent my retainer because it fell onto the floor and my dog got it. I tried to get it away and it got bent. I washed it off and tried to put it back into place in my mouth. The retainer didn't end up fitting. My parents made an appointment today but for some odd reason, the orthodontists are taking a break and won't be back until February 25. I'm afraid my teeth will shift back the way they were. It seems like they're already starting. Any advice on what I should do?

You could try your regular dentist. He/she may be able to adjust it enough that you could at least wear it until your ortho is back.
