Can I sue my orthodontist for having braces on for more than 5 years?

i had braces put on my teeth summer of '02 and still have them on. I went to an orthodontist that owned his own 7 practices in the southern New Jersey area. I started out seeing him and he was fantastic! I went regularly to see him and my teeth were looking good. After a year, he went to his offices that were further for me to travel to, so i saw his other orthodontists at his other offices. In summer 04 I went back to him to get my braces off. (they were to be on for about 22 months) He took my top braces off but couldn't believe that his dentists wanted him to take off the bottom ones. My teeth were worse than before. It is now 2007 and I still have the bottom braces on! My teeth are horrible, my overbite is worse, and I'm constantly biting the inside of my cheeks and mouth b/c of the way my teeth are positioned now. I also have a gap between my two upper front teeth now. I wear my retainer everyday (for the past 3 years) and if I leave it out for more than a day, i have a gap

Can I sue my orthodontist for having braces on for more than 5 years?
You need to see another orthodontist and get a second opinion. If your braces are causing this much trouble, it doesn't sound like they should be in your mouth.





Really, go see some else and get another opinion about what's happening.
