Orthodontist refuses to put braces on my daughter on the NHS?

My 13yr old daughter has been on the Orthodontist waiting list for 3 %26amp;1/2 years .


She has now been refused braces on the NHS because under new regulations (April 2006) she is 1/2 mm under the required 6mm protrusion needed


.I was offered to go private (£1,200.00)by the same orthodontist.


Why isnt she under the old regulations since she was reffered in 2003?


The problem is that we only have two orthodontists in the county so the waiting list is very long.





Has anyone else had this problem?

Maybe you should try and purchase a dental health plan (discount) and then it would save you up to 80% of the cost.
