Will the orthodontist fix my retainer?

I had an orthodontist for many years that I didn't like but had to go to because my mother insisted that I would.

Unfortunately, that means that once I became of age I stopped seeing him, didn't wear my retainer like I should have for most of the time and my lower front teeth have shifted slightly. When I put my lower retainer it fits, but not perfectly as one of the wires don't fit where the tooth shifted to.

In the past I was able to fix the problem by putting the retainer for about a week or so and it would put the teeth back in place.

If I see a new orthodontist will he be able to fix the wire for it to fit without going through the braces phase all over again?

Will the orthodontist fix my retainer?
Yes it can be done, you willneed to make another plate or adjust the current one, depends on how bad the problem is. I suggest a spring retainer, it helps in these cases.
Reply:I hate to be the bearer of bad news...........but you might need braces again. It all depends on the severity of the shift you've experienced. Sometimes it can be corrected with a new retainer being put into *faithful* service. Good luck to you!!
